Standard Bank wanted to launch Investor Insights, a new digital platform that would give institutional clients quick, intuitive access to Corporate Bond Trading data to support more informed investment decisions.
This project posed three key challenges:
1. Combining Two Products:
Credit Connect and Investor Insights, into a single experience while creating an information architecture that could scale as additional asset classes and investment products were introduced.
2. Making Navigation Easy:
The challenge was to balance sophisticated financial functionality with a user experience that felt simple, intuitive, and accessible for professional investors.
3. Showing Data in a Meaningful Way:
At the same time, complex market data needed to be transformed into meaningful visualisations that helped clients identify trends and opportunities at a glance.
As the Lead Product Designer, I was responsible for designing the end-to-end product experience across the new Investor Insights platform.
Working closely with product managers, business stakeholders, developers, and data analysts, my role was to unify two existing products into a seamless experience, create a scalable navigation framework, and design data visualisations that transformed complex financial information into actionable insights.
Collaborated with cross-functional teams across Credit Connect, Investor Insights, engineering and data analytics to align business objectives, user needs and technical requirements throughout the project.
I led the end-to-end UX and UI design process, including discovery workshops, information architecture, user flows, wireframing, high-fidelity UI design, dashboard design, data visualisation, interactive prototyping, developer collaboration and usability testing.
I designed a unified landing experience that brought Credit Connect and Investor Insights together into a seamless platform, while creating a flexible information architecture that supported future expansion across asset classes and investment products.
Working closely with data analysts, I translated complex bond trading data into intuitive charts and interactive visualisations, helping users identify market movements, compare sectors and make more informed investment decisions.
I focused on reducing cognitive load by creating clear layouts, strong visual hierarchy and intuitive dashboard interactions that enabled faster decision-making.

The redesigned information architecture, intuitive navigation, and data-driven dashboards provided clients with faster access to real-time bond market insights while establishing a scalable foundation for future investment products and asset classes.

Following launch, Click to Trade, part of the Investor Insights offering, attracted more than A$53 million in investments within its first eight months, demonstrating strong client adoption and contributing to Standard Bank's continued growth in the corporate bond trading market.
