One of Africa’s largest banks, Standard Bank, wanted to launch a new product, Investor Insights, to give clients quick, clear access to Corporate Bond Trading data that could help guide their trading decisions.
This project posed three key challenges:
1. Combining Two Products:
Standard Bank already had two separate products: Credit Connect and Investor Insights. The challenge was to bring them together on one landing page, clearly showing the value of both while allowing clients to easily switch between them.
2. Making Navigation Easy:
Switching between Credit Connect and Investor Insights needed a clear, simple information architecture. The menu structure had to handle different asset classes and stay easy to use, even as new offerings were added in future.
3. Showing Data in a Meaningful Way:
To help clients understand the market, the platform needed live graphs that showed monthly market movements. We needed to work with Data Analysts to find the right data and turn it into visualisations that were clear, helpful and easy to use.
To solve these challenges, I designed an experience that combined both products, made navigation seamless, and turned complex data into useful insights:
• A Unified Landing Page:
I designed a landing page that clearly communicated the combined value of Credit Connect and Investor Insights, with a simple dashboard overview of market activity and clear pathways for users to register or switch between the two.
• Intuitive Information Architecture:
I created a flexible, user-centred menu structure that supported different asset classes and could grow with future offerings.
• Clear, Dynamic Data Visuals:
I designed live graphs that showed market movements, made comparisons easy, and turned raw data into helpful, actionable insights for clients.
As Lead Product Designer, I focused on balancing client needs, technical constraints, and business goals — and brought the solution to life through:
1. Cross-Team Collaboration:
I worked closely with the Credit Connect and Investor Insights teams to merge the products on a single landing page. Regular workshops and feedback sessions kept everyone aligned and ensured the final result worked for all stakeholders.
2. Iterative Design & Testing:
To build a clear information architecture, I led conversations with content owners and sketched out menu structures for different asset classes. I refined these through feedback and testing to make sure the navigation stayed simple and scalable.
3. Turning Data into Insights:
Working side by side with Data Analysts, I translated complex data into easy-to-understand visuals. This included charts that showed market changes over time and allowed clients to compare sectors and sub-sectors at a glance.

Investor Insights launched successfully — combining two separate products into one seamless experience. Clients now have a clear, intuitive way to access real-time bond trading data and market insights, all in one place.

Since launch, Click to Trade — part of the Investor Insights offering — has attracted over A$53 million in investments in just eight months, helping Standard Bank grow its market share and giving clients the confidence to trade smarter.
